&. guidelines
( I ) GENERAL despite being the hermit that i mentioned earlier, i promise i don't bite. i can bit a little awkward and sometimes quiet, but in general, if there any concerns or questions that you have, i would be happy to answer them. i just ask that you approach me like anyone else, with care and respect. i don't take kindly to aggressive gestures and frankly, i am too old to deal with that sort of behavior.
( II ) LORE i could care less, honestly. i don't really mind lore-bending as i personally believe that some really cool ideas can flourish from that. of course, i am sure that there can be limits to how much lore-bending there is, but for me, as long as it doesn't harm anyone or make roleplaying unmanagable, go crazy, do all of the cool stuff.
( III ) IC / OOC this one i am going to keep simple and straight to the point. i am not my characters. what happens ic strictly stays ic. please do not confuse ic and ooc. if you have questions or concerns, approach me ooc and we can most definitely talk about it. also, my characters could be mean, upset, snappy, or cold, but again, those are my characters, not me. i draw a hard line on ooc and ic interactions and i do my best to avoid confusing the two.
( IV ) PLOTTING i will always make time to figure out connections and talk about how our characters could interact in certain situations. i personally really enjoy brainstorming ideas and i try to throw as much as i can out there based on what i know of the character. please do not hesitate to come to me and talk about these things, i will yap your ear off if you let me.
( V ) WRITING SPEED i have good days and bad days. there will be times where i am super slow to respond but usually i try to get a response back within a certain amount of time, which for me could be a week at max. i also am a full-time student at the moment so my time can be a bit split. if for some reason, i haven't responded in weeks, i usually inform the individual but there have been cases where i have forgotten or have been very busy and needed reminding. please don't hesitate to poke me in such circumstances, i appreciate that very much.
( VI ) SHIPPING shipping is loads of fun, i really don't mind talking about potential romances or interactions that lead up to it. but i do have boundaries and i prefer shipping be in line with plot progress. i usually don't ship my characters without reason or some established relations. i haven't been in a multi-ship situation before so i cannot say how i feel about that personally, i try to put myself in my oc's shoes in that situation.
( VII ) BOUNDARIES there are certain aspects of roleplay that i do find very uncomfortable, i steer clear of those. rape and dubious consent are ones that i will absolutely not participate in so don't even ask. i do not roleplay with minors; a lot of my characters touch upon mature and dark themes. i also just don't feel comfortable with the interaction so please respect that. godmodding and disrespecting others is something that i absolutely do not tolerate and our interaction will end very quickly. aside from that, i am honestly open to all sorts of themes for roleplay, my characters are a mix of different genres so i am more than happy to work with whatever you are comfortable with.
( VIII ) ASK ME when in doubt, just ask me. i will happily talk through whatever your concerns or questions are. like i said earlier, i am a bit awkward, but i am very open to communication, so don't hesitate! some things that i will mention, please approach me about ideas that pertain to character death, potential disfigurement, and captivity. those are very big decisions that i would rather work through and brainstorm on. i don't like to be surprised with things like that.

( I ) AMNESIA shattered memories and hushed tones, odette cannot recall certain parts of her life. no matter how hard she tries to delve into her memories, she cannot make sense of the images that flash across her mind. all she has had to go off of was that she was not always who she currently is. she was once an entirely different being before that was forcefully ripped from her.
( II ) EMPATH intuitive and observant, odette can naturally sense the intensity of emotions of others around her. cursory glances can give her surface level insight, but if she were to make contact with another, just a simple touch, she can get a wider range of emotions from the individual. sometimes if she is not careful, she can mimic the emotions that another feels, the more intense the feeling, the more susceptible she is to also feeling that same emotion.
( III ) PROTECTOR & PROTECTED it's been rumored that a woman of her description has been seen amongst a rare group of unicorns in the coerthas highlands. poachers have been warded off or outrun by this particular group and whispers of frustration among these poachers has spread. additionally, these unicorns seem to follow this woman around when she is among them, they hover near her and treat her as if she is one of their own.
( IV ) HELPING HANDS odette works at a local clinic in ishgard as a healer. having been trained in conjury and some chirurgery, odette follows after her mentor's footsteps and assists in helping those that walk into the clinic. she has been known to help regardless of their background, lowborn, highborn...or morally grey. odette takes the care of her patients seriously and worries about her opinions later. word has spread that lady odette has no qualms about helping folks with more "questionable" backgrounds. due to this word-of-mouth, she'll often get surprise patients requesting for her help and discretion.
( V ) BY YOUR SIDE often times, odette will travel to other city-states if additional healers are called upon. she has experience as a combat medic and has been in skirmishes and small battles, offering healing and protection from the back line. odette has also extended her abilities to escorting nobility safely through designated routes, by request. these more diplomatic duties also extend to interacting with beast tribes, she gets along well with quite a few of them. the notable ones being moogles, sylphs, and the vath.
( VI ) SEARCHING regardless of the trouble or danger odette could potentially face, she is adamant about searching for her missing mother. the last thing she remembers is blurry images and the soft voice of her mother telling her to run as far as she could without turning back. the issue that odette faces is that she has no idea where to begin her search. she was displaced when she was on the run, and just a little girl. so far, probing her memory of what her surroundings could have been has had no luck.
( VII ) NOTHING UNUSUAL she appears as just a normal half elezen woman, nothing too out of the ordinary in her countenance. those who are observant or sensitive to aether will come to realize that despite looking like a regular young socialite, her aether itself tells an entirely different story. there's something strange about her.

༊ family background. who were they again? she remembers small flashes, a gentle voice, and a sense of overwhelming sadness. it was like looking through a shattered mirror. everything was fractured and she couldn't make sense of it.
༊ early life. the first thing she remembers is waking up to a blinding white light. the subsequent events were full of pain, eerie screams and the sense of being torn apart and being put back together, over and over again. she thought the pain would eventually end, but now there was a different sort of pain. loneliness, confusion, and fear. she had fingers, humanoid features, legs, and a frail body. who was she? they called them experiments. sometimes it was a man, sometimes a woman who would come in and drag her into the bright white room. the woman was nicer. one day, the whole room shook and trembled, a loud sound accompanying it. everything went so fast and the last thing she remembered was a soft, weak voice and a pair of watery blue eyes staring at her, "run child, run as far as you can and do not turn around."
༊ adolescence. the little girl had somehow found herself in an orphanage. a noblewoman found her, shivering and starving in the woods, and brought her here. she didn't know how to speak, she didn't know what to do. she could not understand them. the noblewoman introduced her to the matron who took in the little girl. she looked annoyed, another mouth to feed, another mind to nourish. during her stay at the orphanage, odette learned what school was, she learned to speak and read, she had extracurriculars, and learned of culture and friendships. all the while, the noblewoman that saved her in the woods would often drop by and encourage her studies. throughout the years, odette grew particularly close with another young girl, who the matron was not fond of. actually, she noticed that many of the other children did not like this friend of hers.
༊ young adult. one thing had led to another, odette and her friend had left the orphanage due to the matron banishing her friend. the noblewoman, impresario auclair, adopted both young girls and took them under her wing. under the impresario's tutelage, odette learned much of the arts and the ways to navigate high society. with the help of the impresario's governess, odette was taught an advanced education as well as deportment, social graces, and opera, her voice ranging as a soprano. that was supplemented with music, her favorite instrument being the harp. with a natural affinity for conjury, odette pursued a mentorship in the healing arts with the help of the impresario's good word. she soon found work at a local clinic and adapted quickly to the work and mentorship. she showed a passion for learning as much as she could. odette fervently engaged with her patients and soon, she became a recognizable face at the clinic.
༊ present day. under the mentorship, odette flourished. she learned much over the years and her mentor trusted odette to uphold her beliefs and care for those who needed their help, whatever their situation may be. with a much better understanding of conjury, odette had taken up chirurgery as well, to expand her abilities and better help others. being classically trained, odette often times assists impresario auclair by stepping in as a soprano for certain operas and plays. with a full plate on her hands, odette spends much of her days mingling among the nobility, working with her patients, and occasionally promising to sing for her adoptive mother on stage among the brilliant lights and extravagant soirees. despite the fortunate life that she leads, a part of odette feels...empty. her life seemingly began as child, she knew nothing of what happened to her before nor could she remember her past. she yearns to chase after a false promise, whispers of her missing mother being alive, somewhere out there.
